We Chose All Our Running Mates From Methodist Church Since 1992 -Ablakwa On NDC-Methodist Bond

The member of parliament for North Tongu Constituency, honorable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has revealed the strong bond between the National Democratic Congress and the Methodist Church Ghana.

According to Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the national democratic Congress since 1992 chose all their running mates from the Methodist church congregation.

He mentioned the likes of Kow Nkensen Arkaah, who was chosen during the1992 Elections; John Evans Atta Mills selected from the same church during the 1996 Elections and before becoming Flagbearer in 2000 and winning the 2008 Elections as President; Paa Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur who was selected in 2012 and 2016 Elections is also from the Methodist church; and finally professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang in 2020 Elections.

His message comes after the Methodist church dissociated themselves from partisan utterance by one of the pastor's of the church.

He commenced the maturity and exemplary leadership of the revered Methodist Church on the Rt. Rev. Bosomtwi Ayensu

"On a lighter note, it is praiseworthy that they didn’t demand Neutrality Allowance before swiftly re-establishing the partisan neutrality of the celebrated Methodist Church.

It would be absolutely blasphemous and sacrilegious to attempt any alignment of the body of Christ with partisan politics" he said.
