Archbishop Bonaventure set to investigate alleged sexual abuse in the Catholic Church

The Catholic Church, Accra Diocese has openly responded to anonymous allegations of sexual abuse among some members of the church.

A letter written and signed by the Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra, Most Reverend John Bonaventure Kwofie has confirmed this rumor that seem to be going on for a while now and tarnishing the image of the church.

In the letter, it appears that this rumor has been reported time and again; it has been ongoing and so, the Reverend Father seeks to reassure the church, especially the Greater Accra Region of which he is their administrative and spiritual leader that he has taken note of such issues and he is going to bring a halt to it.

Recently, news broke out that one Priest in France has been found to be abusing children since 1950 of which the church is currently looking into the matter. The Pope and the leadership of the church have openly apologized and rebuked the act.

They assured the church's members in France that, they are also investigating the matter and will put the necessary measures in place to curb the situation.

Again in the letter, Most Rev. Kwofie thanked whoever made such a report, the church, and expressed that he is going to make the necessary arrangements for the quarters that is dedicated for reporting such abuse of office to look into the matter and attach the needed sanctions to whoever is found guilty.

Most Rev. Bonaventure iterated that he and the leadership of the church are praying for the church.
