Sobran Jamil Islamic School was established in the year 2007 by the Muslim community of Sukwa Kwahu in the Kwahu South Municipality in the Eastern Region. The school currently is up to JHS 3. It has produced some old students and the current head teacher of the school, Mr. Abu Inusah is one of them. It was originally established for the teaching and learning of Arabic language to children of Islamic parents but the school has gone beyond the original plan achieving more that is beneficial to all including children of non-islamic parents.
The Chief of the Nzongo Community of Kwahu Sukwa, Alhaji Abdul Sallam and the Assembly member of the Area, Hon. Bright Boateng spoke to the media as well as some of the pupils, some parents and some old students that they all want government to take over the running of the school. It will go a long way to contribute to government's plan of making education accessible for all.
This call was made during the celebration of the Eid Mubarak today. Meanwhile the Assembly member of the Area Hon. Bright Boateng when speaking said that they had earlier submitted their application to the Kwahu South Municipal Assembly and are waiting for gevernment response. They are therefore using the media to reiterate their desire and to get a positive response very soon.
