Yes, we killed Dormaa Kusi and if you are a man, I am also a man:Otumfuor replies Dormaahene - video

This current development about who is superior between Dormaa and Asante is not healthy at all. Just as we hold high our chieftaincy institutions, so must our traditional authorities also respect the laws of Ghana and the Constitution of the land.

Every group of people has the right to association, choose their own leader/chief, and govern themselves. You cannot force to rule over a group of people who have elected to choose their own head/chief, follow due process, gazette their processes, and live in peace.

As much as you demand respect from others so must you also respect others and their freedom of association and expression, for no one is above the law. Ghana has laws and any person who has issues can peacefully seek redress through the arms of the courts.

The Asantehene, Otumfuor Osei Tutu has responded to Dormaahene Oseadeayo Agyamang Badu after the latter made several claims against the Ashantis. Following a series of rantings by the Dormaahene who alleged that his people are not inferior to anybody and that Kumasi doesn't mean "under the kum tree."

He explained that the mystical figure Okomfo Anokye is a myth and Kumasi implies Ashanti servants who served the then Denkyirahene by cutting the tree called "Kum."

Fast forward Otumfour in reaction stated emphatically clear that nobody has been forced to serve the Golden Stool. Previous Dormaa chief Agyemang Badu swore allegiance to his uncle before he ascended the throne.

He continued, "Why do you want to change history? When we say we killed Dormaa Kusi then you are angry. Yes, we killed Dormaa Kusi and anyone who says is a man, just remember I am a man too."
