The Roman Catholic Church Cannot Bless Marriage of Two Men

The church ministers and priests of the roman catholic church cannot bless same-sex marriages or unions. This means that gay or lesbian marriages will not be blessed in any roman catholic church worldwide.

The Vatican's doctrinal office, the congregation for the doctrine of the faith(CDF), issued a ruling to this effect. In a statement, the CDF said it was not intended to be a form of unjust discrimination, but rather a reminder of the truth of the liturgical rite. The statement states “It is not licit to impart a blessing on relationships or partnerships, even stable, that involve sexual activity outside marriage as is the case of the unions between persons of the same sex”

The statement further explains that marriage is a sacrament. A sacrament that is blessed by God. Furthermore, homosexuality is a sin according to God. God cannot bless sin and homosexuality is a sin.

The roman catholic church ministers and priest can therefore not be able to bless or encourage same-sex marriages in the various parishes around the world
