The Man Who Cursed Christ

The famous French infidel Francois-Marie d'Arouet who was better known in philosophy as Voltaire lived from 1694 to 1778. The French philosopher was a writer, activist and political idealist who used the written word to help push vast religious, scientific, political and social change.

Voltaire was a hostile atheist. In speaking of Christ he once said, “Curse the wretch?” in twenty years Christianity will be no more. My single hand shall destroy the edifice it took twelve apostles to rear."

Notice what this noted French infidel said of Christ our Savior: "Curse the wretch!" How on earth can you gather so much confidence to curse Christ and call Him a wretch?

He prophesied the extinction of the Bible hundred years from his time saying "One hundred years from my day there not be a Bible in the earth except one that is looked upon by an antiquarian curiosity seeker." At least everyone reading this article now will not need a rocket scientist to tell you that this prophecy has failed greatly.

Contrary to his prophecy of the extinction of the Bible, "only 50 years after his death the Geneva Bible Society used his press and house to produce stacks of Bibles. "Source:

Geneva Bible Society

I don't have any doubt that these are the people who have laid the foundations for the atheism that is so prevalent in Europe today. Shortly after his death, the very house in which he printed his foul literature became the depot of the Geneva Bible Society.

In deed it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God: The nurse who attended to Voltaire on his sick bed said: "For all the wealth in Europe I would not see another infidel die."

He Was Helpless and Desperate on His Deathbed.

The physician, Trochim, who was with Voltaire at his death said that he cried out most desperately: "I am abandoned by God and man! I will give you half of what I am worth if you will give me six month's life. Then I shall go to hell, and you will go with me. O Christ! O Jesus Christ!" Notice the desperation and helplessness of this blasphemer as he descended into the abyss. He himself admitted that he was on his way to hell. My dear Christian friends, let's make no mistakes about the reality of Heaven and hell.

My friend, its a very stupid thing to fight against what God has ordained: Christianity is the way God has ordained, no man can fight against it and win. No man can fight against it and go scot free.

chose to fight for God and his Christ instead.
