One Of The Powerful Weapons Of A Believer.

Christianity is an act of worship which is driven or acted by a powerful weapon or tool called FAITH.

According to the bible, NLT version precisely,” faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen, it gives us assurance about things we cannot see”. (Hebrews 11:1). In other words, faith is having conviction of things, you have not seen but hoped for them.

Also, Christianity is driven by this weapon because it is impossible to please God, without faith. Therefore, in order to please God, Christians must exhibit faith in all aspects of their life.

Firstly, faith can be exhibited through offering sacrifice to God. Not just any other sacrifice, but an acceptable one. An acceptable sacrifice is a one that has been made from the heart and is of great value from your possessions i.e. possessions like money and properties. For example; Abel offered to God a more acceptable sacrifice to God than his brother “Cain”. This is because, he gave the fattest and healthiest sheep amongst his flocks of sheep to God and Cain offered spoilt and damaged fruits to God. So therefore, God was pleased with Abel’s sacrifice because he acted with “faith”. And through this, God commended him as righteous. (Hebrews 11:4)

Furthermore, faith can be exhibited through pleasing God. Here, one must do things that are pleasing in the sight of God and must also walk intimately with Him. An example of a man who exhibited faith through pleasing God is “Enoch” the son of “Jared”. (Genesis 5:18). Enoch is a man who was described to have walked closely with God and had had intimate fellowship with Him. He was able to do this through faith. Also, instead of dying like his ancestors did, he was rather taken up by God such that, he should not see death. In other words, he disappeared from the surface of the earth through faith. (Hebrews 11:5)

Moreover, faith can be exhibited through reverent fear to God. Here, one must be fully obedient to the word of God. An example is “Noah” the son of “Lamech”. (Genesis 5:28-29). Noah found favor in the sight of God. He also walked with God and through faith, he built a large boat(ark) to save his family from flood. (Genesis chapter 6) He obeyed God, who warned him about things that had never happened before. By faith, Noah demonstrated the guilt of the world and he received the righteousness that comes by faith. (Hebrews 11:7). Another example is Abraham. By faith, Abraham obeyed God when God called him to leave his father’s house(home) to a land that God would give him as an inheritance, he went without knowing where he was going. (Genesis 11:27)

In addition, faith can be exhibited through believing the word of God. Here, one must not doubt the of the word of God, no matter the challenges one goes through because his words are true. Example; by faith, Sarah was able to have a child “Isaac” for Abraham, though she was barren and too old. She believed that God would keep to his promise. (Hebrews 11:11)

All these examples above affirms or confirms that faith is a powerful weapon and without it no one can please God. (Hebrews 11:6a).

In the midst of difficulties, most Christians lose faith and tend to give up on whatever they expecting in life. I admonish you to be encouraged by this renowned men and women of God.

Take critical notice that faith is dead without good works. (James 2:17)
