Yesterday, being the valentine day had a lot of persons exchanging gifts and having romantic moments. It also brought about some relationship problem as most of the updates were seen on the social media. There was cruise and fun as well pertaining to certain activities surrounding the valentine ceremony.
However, I also came across some controversial posts like the one in the screenshot below. A lady took to her Facebook handle to make a post in a group. In a tone of mockery she addressed those who were against the Catholic Church but are celebrating valentine. She referred to it as "our Valentine."
In her own words she blasted;
"If you are not a Catholic don't celebrate our Valentine. You can't hate our doctrine and be celebrating our saint."
Below are the screenshots of various comments attracted by the controversial post;
What are your thoughts on this? Can you share with us the true history and etymology of valentine? Does it belong to the Catholic Church and do you think those who are not Catholics should not celebrate it?
