Find out more facts about "Blasphemy"

The definition of blasphemy is saying something concerning God that is very disrespectful. An example of blasphemy is when John Lennon said the Beatles were more popular than Jesus. Profane or contemptuous speech, writing, or action concerning God or anything held as divine.

I believe that God can forgive all sins provided the sinner is truly contrite and has repented for his or her offenses. Here's my list of unforgivable sins: Murder, torture and abuse of any human being, but particularly the murder, torture and abuse of children and animals.

Here's what that means: The unforgivable sin is the only sin which you can commit as an act which endures for as long as you reject the Spirit and consider the work of Christ the work of Satan.

One who commits blasphemy; a person who mocks or derides a deity or religion, or claims to be God.

Blasphemous comes from a Greek word that means “evil-speaking,” but actions as well as words can be blasphemous. Beyond religion, any attack on something you cherish is blasphemous, like when your best friend says your celebrity crush is ugly.
