Pius Hadzide, former Deputy Minister for Information has challenged former President John Mahama for his views concerning the proposed payment of salaries to the spouses of the President and Vice President. The discussion on the payment started last week and has dovetailed into this week.
On ‘GHToday’, today, Monday, July 12, 2021 Pius made startling revelations about the former President. He questioned why John Mahama will look on while as president for his wife to be paid and yet oppose this new recommendation.
“Under both President Atta Mills and President John Dramani Mahama, the rates were even increased and so there might be some wisdom in that. The politicization and the double standards of we at the ruling class is leading the populace in a certain tangent. I will reference John Mahama on his commentary on this matter.
Is he not aware that in his time as president monies were being paid to his spouse and the spouses of other presidents? He was aware of this and did he oppose it? To now turn around and argue as though this has not happened before” Pius asked
It is interesting to see what the coming days present. Many are calling on the spouses to come out clear and decline the offer to pay them as they are already enjoying lots of privileges as wives of the President and Vice President.
