I’ll Not Be Happy With God If He Doesn’t Allow Me To See This Happen – Leader of Separatist Group

One issue that drew the attention of many and caused for swift response some time ago is that of the separation of the Volta Region [Western Togoland] from Ghana to form an independent state. Somewhere last year, scores of persons were arrested and charged with treason among others for coming together to fight for the independence of the Volta Region, what the group called Western Togoland. The arrested persons have been set free but no one can clearly tell if the matter has been laid to rest or not. This fight started about four years ago when the leaders of the group believed that the people in the area were underrepresented in Ghana and hence would be better if they could form their own sovereign nation.

Charles Kormi Kudzordzi was one of the persons who took the news' headlines for being part of the separatist group who were fighting to make the Volta Region of Ghana a sovereign state. Mr. Kudzordzi says that he will be unhappy if the Almighty [God] does not allow him to see Volta Region’s independence from Ghana before he leaves the earth. He added that he would know that truth exists in the world only when this dream of his [winning Volta Region’s independence from Ghana] is realized.

Do you think the Volta Region should be independent of Ghana? What can be done to prevent such groups from rising? Share your thoughts by leaving a comment in the section below.
