Do you recall the adage that cleanliness is second only to Godliness? Then God is not nearer to Ghana as a nation because we are not clean. Many Ghanaians are so irresponsible that they litter at any moment, on any day, in any place.
When you try to correct them, you're likely to hear things like "how do you expect Zoom lion to have a job if I don't put the trash on the floor?" In the worst-case situation, you'll be asked if your chamber and hall are self-contained.
The images can be found on a regular basis in many of the country's major cities. Almost half of the country's gutters are clogged with sand and plastic waste. Who put the trash on the floor, is the question we should be asking.
Was it John Dramani Mahama or Nana Akuffo Addo? I'm sure you already know the answer. So, the next time you go out, don't just throw trash around as if no one is looking. Be a decent citizen for Ghana's sake.
Let's stop littering the environment. This is the only we way we can develop the country together.
