You are making Ghanaians poorer: Catholic Bishops shakes Akufo Addo and Dr. Bawumia.

It seems we do not have to wait till 2024 before we hear what the opinion voices of the country have to say about the Akufo Addo and Dr. Bawumia administration.

The verdict is out early, as the leadership of the Catholic Church in Ghana have given a terrible marks to the promises the New Patriotic Party (NPP) made to Ghanaians

They said that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has defaulted in honouring his promise to protect the public purse.

“Poverty is grinding down millions of people all over the country, prices of essentials are rising daily, and people are struggling to keep families alive together.

“Though poverty stares us in the face, it appears lost to those with power,” President of the Ghana Bishops’ Conference, Most Reverend Philip Naameh, has lamented

Slow, but surely, it is becoming apparent that, Ghanaians are really feeling the brunt of bad economic policies of the current government.

It is not rare these days to hear the ordinary Ghanaian lamenting on the skyrocketing prices of everybody consumable. Fuel and LPG have been going up almost on a weekly basis.

Living standards have generally gone up, and it is an ideal time for the Catholic Church to become the voice of the voiceless.

Meanwhile, the communication directorate of the ruling NPP is out there with some weak defence as a counter to the genuine concerns of the men of God.

According to Yaw Aboabeng Asamoah, the Bishop's statement lack clarity. He wanted them to dwell on some specifics, so they have conversation.

The NPP's posture through the communicate director is not a surprise. That has been the attitude of the typical Ghanaian politician.
