Satan has a secret, and he's done a fantastic job of keeping it hidden from the bulk of the world's population. Now you may learn Satan's dark secrets and be more effective in combating his evil schemes.
The Devil, Satan, has his own secrets he doesn't want us to know about. “An adversary or one who resists” is how the Hebrew term for Satan is translated. He is clearly God's and mankind's adversary. While this is self-evident, there are aspects of Satan that most people, including Christians, are unaware of.
1.He is real. According to a Barna Group survey, the majority of American Christians think Satan does not exist. According to the poll, the majority of people believe Satan is simply a "symbol of evil," nothing more or less. This is odd because Christians should be the ones who believe in his existence.
Satan is clearly mentioned in the Bible. To overcome Satan's influence, the bible states we must put on the armor of God (Ephesians 6:11-12). Satan is listed among the angels who presented themselves to God in Job 1:6-7. Several verses in the Bible (I Chronicles 21:1-2; Matthew 4:1-11; Psalms 109:6; Zechariah 21:1-2) accurately indicate his existence.
2.He is the god of the universe. Some individuals may be surprised to learn that Satan is the god of this planet. 2 Corinthians 4:4 and I John 5:19 both explain this plainly. When Satan tempts Jesus Christ, he even offers him the kingdoms of this world (Matthew 4:8-9). This explains why the world is in such disarray since Satan is its king.
3.He is a light angel. Satan is traditionally depicted as a nasty, crimson, hairy, and frightening demon with a long pointed tail and horns. While he is depicted as a snake and dragon in Revelation 12:9, he was formerly a perfect cherub who guarded God's throne (Ezekiel 28:14-15). He and his demons can now deceive people by transforming into an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14). As a result, he will most likely appear to men as an angel rather than a demon.
