A gory accident has occurred on the Techiman - Kintampo highway. 7 persons have been reported dead. The victims consisted of a team of Christians from Bolgatanta heading towards Atwea mountains for a Prayer retreat.
Five persons out of that group have been reported dead, including the wife and daughter of their head pastor. The head pastor who sustained serious injuries has been rushed to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi.
Among the deceased was a young man who was being trained to become a pastor. Several of the passengers have been seriously injured with some having their legs amputated.
About 16 of the injured persons were taken to Holy Family Hospital in Techiman and others were taken to Wenchi Government Hospital. According to one of the passengers, their driver was not overspeeding but he thinks he might have dozed off a bit since they started the journey deep in the night.
