A Political Scientist and member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr Richard Amoako Baah says President Akufo-Addo used God to deceive the people of Ghana into voting for him during the 2016 elections.
This mantra, he says, was a mere rhetoric that the current President used only to come to power and do what God despises.
‘‘The battle is the Lords, when you say the battle is the Lords and you continue with lies what is that? It means you are a rascal, you understand, you are not telling the truth’’
“When you mention the God’s name for smoothing, the next thing that follows from you must be the truth , the lords battle is not fought with lies and falsehood, never, you have cursed yourself when you do that , that is what I am telling you’’
‘‘It’s not only the president who has done that, but Ghanaians also do that, Mahama did it, this one whatever, Atta mills I didn’t hear things like that from him of cause he wasn’t there too long’’, he said
Speaking on Ultimate FM last Sunday, he says Ghanaians have now become aware of the deceit and lies peddled by the two leading parties and that the NPP and NDC duopoly will soon be broken.
‘‘Ghanaians are such that if they have not seen something , they cannot imagine it that it can happen , that is what we say, ‘di33 ye di eni ewunu , ni33 yedi awu adansie’, but that is not true, there is something called imagination, there are all sorts of possibilities that you have never seen but it will come’’, he said
He continued ‘‘Then when it comes, ‘wie di33 yen hunu bi da oo’ not it’s come now you have seen it, why there are so many possibilities, now I have no doubt that this country very soon will get rid of NDC and NPP, all the corruption will be swept aside and so I have great hopes’’
‘‘We still have a bit of time to go, let’s have patience, keep praying to God, he is the one who is going to do it, we can’t do it ourselves we have tried to do it, you see Nana Addo came to use the name of God in vain. ‘‘The battle of the lord is followed by truth, the other name of God is truth”, he added.
