Some well meaning people have expressed their frustration that the Christian Council and the Catholic Bishops Conference had thrown their support behind the Methodist Church and Wesley Girls’ SHS decision not to allow Muslim students in the school to observe the Islamic ritual of fasting.
Whilst others think it has made the problem worst, others also think it could lead to problems in the future. There is even a former student of Wesley girls who thinks the issue is not only about fasting but goes beyond fasting.
Whilst there is a need for all law abiding citizens to respect the constitution of Ghana,we must be careful not to trample upon the rights and privileges of others and institutions in the name of respecting the constitution. If I am a christian and the constitution permits me to pray, the moment I begin to shout too much in the name of prayer,I am disturbing the peace of my neighbor who might want some silence in other to ponder over his life and problems
