Fraud

Punish Nana Agradaa if she is guilty but do not raise church regulation.

The Ghana Charismatic Bishops Conference has issued a plea to the appropriate authorities to pursue the laws against fraud claims that have been leveled against the Leader of the Heaven Way Church Patricia Oduro, aka Nana Agradaa, should she be proven to be liable.

This comes after Nana Agradaa was taken into custody on claims that she cheated her congregation's members by operating a money-doubling racket. Rev. Kwesi Deh, the General Secretary of the Ghana Charismatic Bishops' Conference, recently appeared on the Citi Breakfast show to express his belief that law enforcement agencies ought to take action in order to put an end to such unlawful actions being carried out in the name of God."It is possible for individuals to commit crime and fraud in the name of their religious affiliation. Praise be to God that Ghana is a very civilized society with laws that govern all of these different types of criminal activity. Because of this, I believe that the laws should address this issue. The Ghana Charismatic Bishops Conference continued their opposition to the calls for the regulation of Churches and the activities that they engage in throughout the country.

"This nation's churches have the most well-kept grounds of any in the world. There are some bad apples, that's for sure. Additionally, churches do not have a fear of regulation; rather, churches are opposed to the type of regulation that is currently being discussed. There are a lot of churches that are registered. What we are opposed to are laws that attempt to define how things should be done.

It is inappropriate to bring up the topic of church regulation in the event that someone is involved in a scheme to multiply their money. In the first place, it is not an act of religious observance."
