Our source inside the church confirmed that the deceased, who was the Assistant Pastor in Charge of Region (Youth) 35, had ministered the day before.
He was said to have retired to his bed and not awoke.
Temiloluwa, his wife, is said to have raised the alarm.
“He was not ill and had made no complaints prior to the incident. Pastors in the church were called to pray for him, but it was all for naught, according to a source.
Several church leaders acknowledged the incident but said they couldn't comment on it.
Pastor Olaitan Olubiyi, the RCCG's Head of Media and Public Relations, announced the tragedy on Thursday morning.
“It's true,” he said. He was stationed in Eket at the time of the incident. For the time being, I don't have any info. We'll probably make a comment before the end of the day.”
Dare would have turned 43 this month, in June. His father, Adeboye, identified him as his first miracle child in a social media post on his 42nd birthday last year.
On his Facebook page, he wrote,
“This is our first miracle baby. We pray that God will continue to work miracles in your life, and that all those who are in need of a miracle today will contact you in JESUS' name. Dad, Mom, and the entire Adeboye dynasty send their blessings.”
Dare was happily married and had a family.
May his soul rest in peace
