For women: Here's how to shoot your shot if the guy is shy, not forthcoming

Having a crush on a shy guy can be frustrating, especially if you’re used to waiting for him to make the first move. It takes a bit of courage to ask any guy out, but with a little patience, you can totally do it. In this article, we’ll talk you through how to ask your shy crush out—and get him out of his shell.

1. Talk about a common interest.

If there's anything you're both into, talking about it can be a great way to bond and help him feel more at ease. Let him know you share his interest, and ask him questions to get him talking about it. For instance, you could say, "It's so cool that you're into anime, too.

2. Write a sweet poem

If you have strong feelings for this guy, put them down in the form of poetry. It does not have to be the best poem. Even a silly verse expressing your feelings for him will do. Conclude it by asking him to reply through an e-mail or by meeting you at a particular place at a specific time.

3. Hang out casually

If you think the guy likes you, ask him to hang out with you. You can call him to a food joint or a coffee shop for a conversation. When you feel the time’s right, tell him what you feel for him.

4. Flirt with him

You can flirt with him by asking questions such as ‘do you have a girlfriend’ or ‘would you like to have a girlfriend?’ Based on his response, try to gauge the situation. If you get a positive reply, go ahead and tell him you like him.

5. Try the old-fashioned method

If you want to be a little riskier, you can also message him first. Or tease him with those things about himself. Things like "your head is big", and "what's up" amongst others.

Contrary to what girls think, a lot of guys actually prefer to be approached first. Some of them are also on the shy side, and these guys rarely, if ever, message first.
