W/R: Couple Arrested For Beating Their 4-Year Old Daughter To Death For Urinating On Herself In Bed.

The Western North Regional Police Command have arrested a couple for beating their four (4) year old daughter to death for bedwetting at Yakasi in Aowin District of the Western Region. The couple attempted to bury the remains secretly but an informant from the community alerted the police and it led to their arrest. The suspect's are Salome Oteku, twenty-seven (27) and Effah Donaldson, thirty-four (34) stays at Yakasi with their daughter, Francisca Etuteh who is the stepdaughter of the male suspect (Donaldson).

The couple is said to regularly punish the little girl for bedwetting but overdid it with their last punishment. They were said to have beaten her till she fell unconscious and after moment's of no movement, rushed her to the Aowin Community Clinic at New Yakasi. From sources, the couple in previous attempts to stop the child from bedwetting placed her buttocks in a pan of boiling water which resulted in serious injuries on the young child.

They were said to have beaten the child resulting in dislocation of the arm and injuries at her back. The little girl was announced dead at the hospital and the parents took her body away in an attempt to bury it. The Western North Regional Police Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Micheal Nkekesi who confirmed the incident said the suspect's have been put before the Enchi District Court and have been remanded in police custody for further investigations. The body of the girl has been deposited at the Enchi Government Hospital for autopsy.
