Meet the tribe where women cover their hair with mud and men offer wives to visitors.

Hello lovely readers welcome back once again to my page. In this article, we will look at a certain wonderful tribe in the world who does their things in a different way.

If you are a married man, will you offer your wife to a friend or visitor? I guess not, but that is the culture of the Himba tribe. The Himba tribe has many strange and wonderful cultural practices.

Northern part of Namibia, that is where the Himba tribe can be found and also some southern part of Angola, they have existed for millions of years. The tribe has managed to maintain their tradition and have a population of over 50,000.They are very friendly to foreigners, but do not allow them to interfere their tradition.

They have three notable cultural practices. The very first one is that, when someone visits a married Himba man, he has to offer one of his wives to the person to portray how happy he is. This act is known as 'Okujepisa Omukazendu'. The husband will sleep in a different hut and if he does not have another hut, he would sleep outside for that night.

Secondly, their women cover their hair and skin with a special type of mud paste, this is called 'otjize'. The females have different hairstyles for children, young ladies undergoing puberty, ladies who are about to get married and women who are married.

Thirdly, they do not take their bath with water, this does not mean they do not clean their body. Due to the scarcity of water at their part, the clean their self with a red 'otjize' paste. This paste protect their skin from harsh sun.

They are very unique individuals and third place is a beautiful one to visit.
