People say is better to go through divorce in order to have a peace of mind. What if the divorce goes against you? As in losing almost everything to your ex partner.
Well, in the year 2017, it happened to former Ivorian international and Arsenal defender, Emanuel Eboue for being broke after bitter divorce. He also played for Sunderland and Galatasaray. His Belgian ex wife Aurelie, allegedly took everything from him including his cars, mansion, three children and a house in London where he was ordered by a court to surrender ownership.
In an interview, Eboue stated that "My own house. I suffered to buy my house but I am now scared. I am not going to sell my clothes or sell what I have. I will fight until the end because it is not fair,”
He also revealed that" I can't afford the money to have any lawyer or barrister, I am in the house, but I am scared. Because I don't know what time the police will come. Sometimes I off the lights because I don't want people to know I am inside, I put everything behind the door"
He later remarried to his Ivorian ex fiancee Stephanie Boede in their 2019. In his recent interview, he therefore revealed that " when I hear people say Emmanuel Eboue lost everything, I laugh. I have properties in Ghana and and also Ivory Coast. I live very comfortable and I thank God. So when people say he doesn't eat, doesn't have a place to stay, it's not true.
