It’s always nice to meet someone you find attractive and plan for a date. But at times, the questions that get asked during first dates are too superficial to delve deeper into their personality to make your decision but it shouldn’t be. Below are 10 great questions to ask during your first date with someone to know them properly.
This shouldn’t be used as a script but as a guide which means that the subsequent questions you ask will depend on the feedback you get from the other person. Let’s get started.
1. What Are You Looking Forward To?
We all have something in our minds that we’re excited about. It could be a graduation or a birthday party just around the corner. Finding out what the other person is looking forward to offers great insight into their personality and it also makes it easier for them to reciprocate the question and keep the conversation going.
2. What Did You Want To Be When You Grew Up?
We all had big dreams when we were children. The most common childhood ambitions included a doctor, lawyer, pilot, etc. Have a laugh with your new date and find out what they wanted to be when they grow up. Chances are you have a lot in common than you think.
3. What Was Your First Job?
This is a real blast from the past and it’s always a fun story to bring up. First jobs are usually not very glamorous so expect some funny tales.
4. Did You Love or Hate School?
Talk of school can either bring renditions and fabulous schooldays with mates having fun and joking around or the exact opposite.
5. What Is a Relationship Deal Breaker in Your Opinion?
You can go as deep or shallow into this as you feel appropriate. It could be funny or it could be meaningful. The answer you get will be a good guide to deciding in which direction to keep going.
6. When Do You Feel Peace?
This question seems innocent enough but the sad reality is it's a question that confuses many people. You may not get the answer right away but you've certainly given them food for thought.
7. What Is Your Relationship Like With Your Family?
If you receive a quick reply like it's okay, it’s probably best to move on quickly as it’s clear that things might not actually be okay. It would be a a good idea to see things for yourself afterwards.
8. Who Knows You the Best?
This one is great because it really gives a great insight into the most important person in their life; to the person who probably loves them the most.
9. What Keeps You Up At Night?
This question will help you delve deeper into getting to know the other person well. Be open to whatever they come up with since it could be quite personal.
10. What Do You Want to Be Remembered For?
