In most societies across the world, it is expected for young people to marry as part of showing their maturity and ability to handle their own affairs. In contemporary times, many are even prepared to have children without going through the formality of marriage. However, bringing into the world another human being is a serious lifelong commitment. Prospective parents have to understand that it is not simply about showing the world that they too are fertile and healthy. They must be prepared to make the time and effort to raise children and not resort to beating them up for every indescretion.
