The Vice President of the Republic, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, together with the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, the Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah and several others stormed the Ashanti Region to commiserate with the family of the three persons who lost their lives in a commotion at Ejura Sekyedumase earlier this week.
The government delegation, which also includes the National Security Minister Honorable Albert Kan Dapaah, went on behalf of the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo to extend their deepest condolences to these bereaved families and gave them assurance that the perpetrators would be brought to book.
"We stand here on behalf of the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo, to extend our deepest condolences to you. And we want to assure you that the government's resolve to investigate circumstances that led to the untimely and tragic death of your loved ones shall be brought to book," Dr Bawumia assured the bereaved families.
The government has in the last 24 hours, through the Ministry of Interior, set up a three-member committee to investigate the circumstances that led to commotions and the subsequent death of one Ibrahim Mohammed, aka Kaaka, and two others while leaving serveral others severely injured.
Following the death of 40-year-old Ibrahim Mohammed, aka Kaaka, the youth say they are willing to sacrifice their lives to get justice for him. They also said that the recent developments in Ejura which led to the death of two other persons should be investigated by the National Security Ministry.
The youth stormed the Police station to inquire about the extent of the investigation into the murder of their colleague, stressing that they want the Police to leave no stone unturned in bringing the perpetrators to book.
