Michael Owusu Addo, better known by his stage name Sarkodie, spoke these famous lines in his hit song "Biibi Ba": "Money is the root of evil, but poverty they murder some people."
This afternoon, a group of teenagers almost let their guard down when they talked about spending 6,000 cedis for a wedding ring.
Most of the women present at the conversation, which bordered on banter, voted in favor of the resolution to allow their future husbands to spend 6,000 Cedis on a wedding ring, but the males present at the discussion did not support the motion.
Please answer this question honestly before we go any further: Given his current financial circumstances, would you give your fiancee the go-ahead to purchase a wedding ring that costs six thousand cedis? Assuming that this is the case, could you perhaps explain why? Also, if you answered "no," could you explain why?
During the conversation, one of the women brought up a valid point: "What if the guy is in the position to buy that ring too?" If that were the case, she would gladly give her blessing to the proposal.
One of the ladies said that the cost of their makeup alone was over 2,000 Cedis; imagine the price of a simple wedding band.
