Everybody Left Me Because They Think That I Am My Wife's Slave- Fiction

I'm popularly known as Sammy. I am 35 years old and I live in Akim Oda in the Eastern Region of Ghana with my wife, Sandy. It has been 2 years already. For the past four months or so, I have been the victim of endless criticism from my family and friends to strangers in our neighborhood. The main reason is that everyone close to me feels like I am my wife's slave.

I take so much care of my wife to the point where it feels like I no longer have any dignity in front of her. I wash my wife's underwear, wash her hair, shop, even put nail polish on her. All this I do for love and not because I lose my dignity and my status as a man.

When I try to explain why I treat my wife with a lot of love and consideration, my relatives think rather that I am just a little slave to my wife and without dignity. My family and friends threatened to give up on me in case I didn't change my behavior.

I don't know what to do. I got my wife used to taking care of her relentlessly. If I change my behavior, she will suffer a lot. If I continue, my family and friends will abandon me. What to do ? I really need your advice.
