Your Boyfriend Is Not Obliged To Give You Money But If He’s Not, There’s Problem-Nana Aba Anamoah

In Ghana, being a boyfriend is akin to a husband. It usually comes with an enormous responsibility to the extent that you are expected to provide almost everything including rent, feed and even sometimes pay fees.

The Oxford dictionary defines a boyfriend as: “anale friend or acquaintance, often specifying a regular male companion with whom a person is romantically or sexually involved”.

Obviously a boyfriend is not a husband and must have limited responsibilities but is that the case in our society?

I can assure you that the answer is negative though there might be some exceptions.

The General Manager of GHONE TV and Starr Fm, Nana Aba Anamoah says a boyfriend is not obliged to provide money in a relationship as appears to be the not in our society.

Nana Aba Anamoah said this during an interview with Naa Ashorkor on the “Between Hours” show on Assase Radio.

She was of the view that even though boyfriends are not obliged to give their ladies women but it is a problem if they do not help in times of need.

“He is really not obliged to give you money. The decision to give is at his discretion but also if she is a really in a fix and the guy can help then he should be able to help. If he is not helping, then there is a big problem there”.

Asked whether money plays any role in love, Nana Aba responded in the affirmative.
