Joyce has narrated how her mum rejected her the day she came out of prison. Joyce claims that after she divorced her husband, she moved to Nairobi to look for work so that she could care for her children. Her children left the city for greener pastures, leaving their children behind for their mother to look after while she works in the city.
She got a job in a hardware store, and the person who employed her one day directed her to a specific company to get a cargo for him, and he had also hired a lorry to transport it. She didn't realize she was getting herself into trouble when she realized it was already too late.
She claims she was given a check to go with it, but because she had never seen one before, she didn't realize it was a fake check and not an original, so she went with the check. After they left, she gave out the check, and while she was waiting for the cargo, the police arrived, and she and the lorry driver were arrested and accused of theft and forgery. They were arrested, and that was how she ended up going to prison for a crime she didn't commit.
Joyce claims that the man who gave her the check was never apprehended when she was taken to jail, and she spent two years in prison. She claims that after her release, her mother rejected her and chased her from the house, leaving her with nowhere to go.
Joyce had pleaded with her mother to forgive her if she had hurt her since she adores her, but her mother has refused to let her in or at least let her know her crimes and why she's refusing her from entering their house. She says she has no where to go and asks people to help beg her mother to forgive her.
