U/W: Explosion of Fuel Tanker Kills 1 in Wa

An empty fuel tanker with registration number GE 1751-14 sent to the Wa Magazine for service has partly exploded killing one person instantly and leaving another in a critical condition.

The Tanker was confirmed to belong to RAZ's oil company.

An eyewitness, Yahaya a driver who also sent his vehicle for repair, he explained that the vehicle was sent to the mechanical shop for parts of the tanker detected leaking for maintenance but in the process of wielding the leaking areas, “suddenly I heard an explosion sound and I saw the two that were on top of the tanker, one fell off dying instantly and the second person fell inside the tanker”.

He continued that for the intervention of onlookers, the second person who fell inside the tanker was rescued but his skin has been burnt severely.

Another witness by name Yunus Baari , spoke of the ordeal, he stated that the name of the deceased is Issahaku and he was assisting Zuberu in maintaining the leaking areas but suddenly “we heard the sound and I saw Issahaku fall from the tanker and master Zuberu fell inside the tanker, Issahaku was immediately confirmed dead and master Zuberus’ skin has been burnt off including his hair” Yunus narrated.
