Crime Justice

Ghanaians react massively as the Takoradi girls kidnappers sentenced to death.

The issue of the kidnapping of the Takoradi girls took the nation by surprise since it was the first time the nation was witnessing a crime of this calibre.

A lot of issues ensued in our quest as a nation to bring the pepertuated of this crime to justice but a lot of drama played out in this quest.

The victims; Ruth Abakah, 19; Priscilla Blessing Bentum, 21; Ruth Love Quayson,18 and Priscilla Koranchie, 15 were captured at Kansawurodo, Butumagyebu, Nkroful Junction all in Sekondi-Takoradi of the Western Region

Many people were shocked when the Takoradi girls had gone missing for months but the state wasn't able to mobilise the necessary security apparatus to search for them but did so for the Canadian girls who went missing in Kumasi.

What even added salt to injury was the statement made by the director general of the police CID maame Tiwaa Addo Danquah who said the girls had been found and were in a safe location.

This same police service came out to tell Ghanaians that the skulls and other skeletons that discovered in the manhole of the lead suspect were indeed the missing girls.

The back and forth of the trial of the two suspected criminals has gone on in court and today was slated for the final judgement.

So the two suspects namely Samuel Udeotuk Wills and John Oji appeared before the presiding judge and upon careful interrogation of the issues pending, the two were sentenced to death by hanging.

This judgement has triggered a lot of Outrage among Ghanaians on social media and other online platforms.
