'I don't remember my family' - 71-year old man cries for help in finding his way home
Medina Zongo residents along with Medina Police is pleading with the public if anyone, can help them locate the family of a 71-year-old man who has been missing for over one week now. The aged man who remembers his name to be Apau Koranteng is not even sure if that name belongs to him or not. Apau who was found without any ID card to help confirm his identity is suffering from depression, insomnia and lots of things which has rendered him thoughtless to even remember the last thing he ate. He is still under the care of Medina Zongo men who are housing him, and the and Medina Police who are helping to relocate him back to his family.
Zakari who is a taxi driver is one of the several men who work late in the night at the Medina Zongo area. Zakari through his working late jobs was working when it started raining heavily on the 29 of May. He went to the Medina Zongo school building to park and wait for the lighting to calm down before going back to work, and that was when his headlights flashed the missing Apau.
Apau was struggling to cope with the cold and the rain which was splashing to the corner he was lodging when Zakari found him. Zakari drove his taxi to the edge of the school building and forced Apau to enter the taxi so he can be saved from the heavy rain and cold. Zakari through conversations found out Apau was lost. The man who couldn't even remember the house and family he was from, made had guesses of been a resident of Akuapem Apperedua but couldn't locate where to get a car and go home.
When he was asked the second time, he couldn't even remember what he had said the previous minute ago, and that prompted Zakari, the man might be suffering from depression. He was handed to the Medina police but no reports were seen of him after the police made traces with their database.
Nothing that Apau has said seems to be true and the police are quite sure he has a mental problem. Anyone with information on where Apau Konranteng's family is is advised to come to Medina Police station to help the police and the people reunite him with his family.
