An accident occurred at Ekumfi Dunkwaw on the Apam-Mankesim route in the Central Region, leaving one person dead and others with various degrees of injuries.
While approaching a tight curve, the driver of a Tema-Cape Coast bound Toyota mini bus with registration number GN 9218-21 attempted to pass its leading car.
A family of eight, according to several of the victims, were attending a burial in Cape Coast and were a bit behind the hearse carrying the deceased's body.
They claimed that when overtaking a leading vehicle, the driver noticed another vehicle approaching from the other direction and, in order to prevent a head-on collision, drove off the road's shoulder and collided into a tree, causing the vehicle to topple sideways.
The driver is in critical condition right now. His conductor was sent to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital, along with the Tema family of eight.
