ACP Kwesi Ofori Speaks On The Move By The Police To With Daylight Robberies In The Country

The director-general of public relations for the Ghana Police service, ACP Kwesi Ofori has enlisted measures by the Ghana Police are dealing with daylight robbery cases in Ghana. In an interview with TV3 News, he mentioned that strategies have been devised to confront daylight robberies especially those who use motorbikes.

They have deployed policemen who use motorbikes, static patrol, foot and vehicular. There has also been the increased visibility and presence of police personnel in various communities. The Ghana Police then sought the support of the public to stop these armed robbers.

ACP Kwesi Ofori added that they are monitoring developments closely and will revise their strategies as and when necessary. Again the Ghana Police are targeting financial areas (areas with bank facilities) and other commercial areas such as markets. They endeavour to bridge the gap between workers of the said areas and the police to allow information to be able to flow and get those bad guys who go around robbing people in daylight.

He added that the acting IGP had tasked the commanders to speak with various bank managers on how they can protect them, their banking halls, customers and workers as well.
