Bogoso Explosive Victims to Vacate to Nearby Towns for Safety

Today 20th January, 2022 is a saddest day for Bogoso, a mining town in the Prestea Huni Valley district of the Western Region in Ghana where a mining explosive vehicle moving from Tarkwa to Chirano mines collided with a motorcycle, resulting in the explosion.

Over 500 houses have been distroyed leaving thousands of inhabitants of Bogoso displaced. The NADMO officials adviced the surviving victims to vacate to other nearby environment.

Security Services are on the field to put things in order and rescue those who are trapped under debris and other places.

Residents have been advised to move out of the area to nearby towns for their safety while recovery efforts are underway.The police say they are appealing to nearby towns to open up their classrooms, churches to accommodate surviving victims.“We continue to urge the public to remain calm as we manage the situation. Further, updates regarding the emergency evacuation of the injured will be communicated in due course”, the police statement added.
