Just into the second day of the new year (January 2nd 2021), armed thugs have started breaking the law as a 25-year-old driver known as Osei Gideon, has been shot at the West Mamprusi Municipality in the North East Region after journey from Burkina Faso.
The sad incident reportedly happened at the entrance of a school gate, Wulugu Senior High School to be precise. The armed robbers did not only hurt their victim but also made away with hudge amount of Cedis from the victim and another driver.
The victim, Osei Gideon was said to be driving from Kumasi to Burkina Faso with his vehicle loaded with tomatoes to deliver. However, he was attacked and robbed him of Gh₵4,000.00. The thieves also stole Gh₵2,500.00from another driver heading for Burkina Faso.
The driver is receiving treatment at the Walewale Government Hospital, and is responding to treatment. The police have also started a search for the perpetrators.
