Asem Aba: IGP Dampare disguises himself to monitor hard working Police Officers

The Insprctor General of Police, George Akuffo-Dampare wants to by all ways and means bring sanity and restore the dignity of the Ghana Police Service. In the late hours of yesterday, he did an inexplicable and incredible job which is causing stir in the media space. Many Ghanaians have commended him for doing that.

Between 10pm to 12 midnight, he visited the control room of the police and took over the seat to make calls by himself. He did not inform anybody about his presence so it was an impromptu visit. Upon his arrival, he told the one in charge to get up so that he will call the various units to see how operations were going. Fortunately for others who were very hard working, they picked the calls and updated him about everything.

While others were able to pick, some of them couldn't pick despite the fact that he called several times. It is very clear that, those who couldn't pick and never returned the calls were not aware of his presence. He begun to note down the names of all those who did not pick for them to be queried. As if that was enough, he also joined the patrol team in a disguised manner as if they are colleagues and started monitoring various borders and checkpoints. So this is to say that, he took notice of all those who were 'misbehaving' for the next action to be taken. It is very clear without mincing words that, the new IGP has started in a good way and we hope he will continue to do this good works to the end. This will go a long way to make Ghana Police better and restore back the glory.
