People living in and around Manso in the Essikado Ketan constituency woke up to sad news following a gory train accident in the small community.
It is rare, very difficult to see a train accident, it barely happens but the incident which occurred in the early hours of today has brought a lot of sadness to many individuals.
What happened:
Two trains coming from Benso and Takoradi respectively collided and Manso with one heavily loaded with goods and the other empty.
Close sources indicate that five people have been so far confirmed dead with several others injured and in critical condition.
What is next?
As a result, the rail line which links from Tarkwa to the maim cities of Sekondi and Takoradi has been temporarily blocked and won't allow the manganese trucks to operate.
However, the workers train from Kojokrom through Sekondi to Takoradi will still function on Monday.
We are hereby ad iced to remain careful as we draw close to Christmas.
