According to reports, the deceased attempted to steal some electrical lines that provide power to the neighborhood before he tragically passed away.
According to reports, on Friday, August 5, 2022, at dawn, two young males went to station "A" of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) at Ridge to steal busbar isolators, but the first one was electrocuted and the other managed to flee.
Preliminary investigations showed that the suspect tampered with the wire to break it, and unfortunately for the young man, he got electrocuted and killed quickly, according to the Ashanti Regional Director of ECG, Ing. David Boadi Asamoah.
He pleaded with Ghanaians engaging in such behavior to stop, warning that "anyone found would be dealt with in line with the law."
