The procurement process of the National Cathedral project has been a subject of discussing because of the frequent revelations by the NDC MP for North Tongu, Okudzeto Ablakwa, who has accused the government of skipping due procurement process.
The Public Procurement Authority has finally cleared the air on the procurement approval relating to construction of National Cathedral by Ridade company limited stating that it has not knowledge of any procurement involving the company.
The statement from the Public Procurement Authority exposes President Nana Akufo-Addo and Ken Ofori-Atta who denied knowledge of skipping any due process involving award of contract over the construction of the National Cathedral.
The statement signed by the Chief Executive Mr Frank Mante said, "please be informed that the Public Procurement Authority holds no information relating to the construction of the National Cathedral by RIDABE company limited.
The request for information was done by the MP for North Tongu, Okudzeto Ablakwa to verify his claims over the illegality of the award of contract.
The MP for North Tongu has been a subject of discussing because of his claims illegality over award of contract by the Nana Akufo-Addo administration. Many thought he was just trying to make the ruling NPP government unpopular.
