Ghana Police and YEA - Coalition of Community Police have left us feeling extremely disillusioned.

The Ghana Police Service and the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) have both rejected them, even though they have security service expertise, according to the Coalition of Community Police Assistants.

Despite undergoing training programs, the coalition claims that they are extremely unhappy with the police administration and YEA officials for disregarding them in previous administrations.

This comes after the community police assistants were excluded from the police recruitment process after working on a contract basis for around two years.

Seth Sakyi Boateng and Emmanuel Opoku of the Coalition of the Community Police Assistants questioned why they were being exempted after gaining the necessary skills for the security system in a statement that was also co-signed by the organization's president and secretary combined.

Why hasn't the Ghana Police Service recommended the diligent Community Police Assistants (CPA) who have excelled in their jobs since the 2016–2022 batches?

Do the police intend to inform the public that no CPAs meet the qualifications for police recruitment? Are CPAs failing to assist Ghana Police Service officers in performing their duties?

They questioned the police hierarchy, asking, "Why is the National Human Resource Department of the Ghana Police Service not considering the master list of Community Police Assistants who wrote the Aptitude Test of 2021-2022?"

The CPAs were perplexed as to why the YEA was refusing to sign a formal and legal Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Ghana Police Service so that the hard-working members who performed exceptionally well in their positions would be considered for joining their home institution.

Part of the statement said, "We dismiss the comment made by Mr. Awal Mohammed, National PRO of Youth Employment Agency, on September 14, 2022, with one of the media alleging CPAs don't have accurate (WASSCE) Certificates to enable them to qualify for police recruitment."

They are begging the Police Administration to propose the Community Police Assistants who stood out when the police recruitment process started, taking into account their abilities and behavioral traits.

They claim that by doing this, future generations will be inspired to become Community Police Assistants.
