Important Notice: The NCA To Start Blocking Unregistered Sim Starting September 5

As part of measures to curb fraudulent acts and ensure secured system, Ghanaians are compelled to register their Sim cards with their National ID primary the Ghana Card.

This exercise started some where in October 2021 where all Ghanaians were expected to register their Sim card with their Ghana card.

The news was brought to the public by the minister of communication, Ursula Owusu Ekuful noted in a post she shared on her Twitter page. According to the minister, the exercise was going to last for only six month and any one that fails to register his or her Sim will lost the sim, it will be blocked and won't be able to perform any actions with the sim card being it calls, messaging, internet accessing and etc.

As the exercise proceeds to the deadline which was somewhere March 2022, a lot people weren't able to register their Sim cards due to lack of the Ghana Card. As a result of this, the government was compelled to extend the deadline for the sim card registration which was scheduled to September 30, 2022.

Touching on the main story, the NCA in a press release has created awareness and has sent a strong warning to all those with unregistered sim that, they will roll out punitive actions against them starting September 5 which is Monday.

It was also stated in the press release that, all unregistered sim card will be denied of certain services which includes Phone calls and etc. Their Sim cards are going to be blocked ones and for all Further encouraging all Ghanaians to have their Sim cards registered before the deadline.
