The tanker explosion in Oshigbudu village, Agatu Local Government Area, Benue State, claimed the lives of at least twelve people. A petrol tanker had fallen at the Oshigbudu-Obagaji junction earlier on Sunday, spilling its contents. Yakubu Mohammed, Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Benue State, told PREMIUM TIMES that the tanker had lost control. According to him, the traffic accident claimed the lives of eight men, three women, and a small child. The twelve people died instantly, according to Mr Mohammed, who reported that a fire broke out after the accident.

On Sunday, at least 12 bodies were discovered at the scene of a petroleum tanker explosion at Oshigbudu junction in Benue's Agatu Local Government Area. Yakubu Mohammed, the State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), made the announcement in a tweet. The tanker carrying Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) was on its way to Abuja from the Otukpo area of the state when its brakes allegedly failed, skidded off the lane, and exploded in flames, according to Mohammed.

I strongly suggest the government should take a drastic decision on those that will be caught doing such things in the country. They should face the same thing that they do to others so that it will serve as a deterrent for those in the act or even those planning to enter this act.

Nigeria has known no peace since this year begins, for this month and last month, it has been the worse month ever so far as the bandit continues to hurt and end innocent people life.

What do you also think the government should do?

Stay bless and thanks for reading.
