An aide to Apostle Dr. Isaac Owusu Bempah has argued that the Inspector-General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare has a personal score to settle with the former hence the brute force and humiliation that accompanied his arrest last Sunday. According to the aide, Charles Owusu, the bad blood between the two is because Apostle Owusu Bempah criticized the late T.B Joshua of the Synagogue, Church of All Nations, some years ago.
Mr. Owusu on Angel FM's morning show explained that the IGP's godfather was T.B Joshua and had since the remark by Apostle Owusu Bempah sworn to 'nail' him [Owusu Bempah] for rebuking T.B Joshua. He disclosed that armed police officers were ordered 'from above' to compliment one other who was already with the embattled prophet whiles receiving medical treatment at the hospital.
Mr. Owusu questioned that such orders could only be that of IGP Dampare but no other command of the Ghana Police Service, especially when the detention of Apostle Owusu Bempah presents an opportunity to settle his score with him. He laughed that no amount of physical threat by the IGP could hurt Apostle Owusu Bempah.
"It was a personal score he wanted to settle with Owusu Bempah. And it’s all because Owusu Bempah spoke against his spiritual father, T.B Joshua. But T.B Joshua couldn’t fight him spiritually, so it cannot be you, IGP to fight Owusu Bempah physically," said the aide.
Throwing more light on what transpired at the police station after the arrest of Apostle Owusu Bempah and his three other young pastors, Mr. Charles Owusu said the command from the police was to have the revered prophet detained at the Police Striking Force, a place, he described as a total humiliation of the caliber of person as the prophet.
He noted that the charges as preferred by the police was that the prophet had mobilize about forty (40) armed men to threaten death on somebody [whom he did not mention a name].
"The came demanding that they take him to Police Striking Force, and that he sent forty men to someone’s house to threaten somebody."
Mr. Owusu concluded with a daring statement to his accusations against the IGP to disprove them. This matter is yet to unfold but could the facts affect the confirmation of the acting IGP Dampare who had already won the confidence of the public? Do share your opinion below.
