WAEC: Another Apor Dealer Arrested In Kumasi Over WASSCE Leakage

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) after arresting Godfred Darko alias Mr Phresh says it has arrested Atta Edward also known as Kwadwo Gyimah. They are allegedly responsible for the mass 2021 WASSCE leakages.

Edward, popularly known as WAEC questions distributer or secret helper in a rogue WhatsApp group according to the Graphic .com was arrested last Saturday between the hours of 8 and 9 a.m at Asokwa Junction in Kumasi.

“The WAEC security operatives tracked and arrested Gyimah at Asokwa Junction in Kumasi last Saturday, September 18, 2021, between 8 and 9 a.m. He was then taken to his house at Obuasi for a search,” a source told the newspaper.

The Head of WAEC’s Legal Department, Victor Brew in an interview with Graphic said Gyimah supplies questions to other ‘Apor’ dealers including Vasco links, Prof dito dito, Eminent link, One love, Santiago beacon and Mr Luke King.

He said the police and West African Examinations Councill security operatives are continuing with investigations into activities of other examination fraudsters to bring them to book and make them face the full force of the law.

“We look forward to the prosecution of those found culpable to deter other examination fraudsters as part of efforts to ensure the integrity of the examination, results and curb the WASSCE leakages,” Rev. Brew told the Daily Graphic.

A source familiar with the matter has also revealed that, WAEC security in collaboration with the national security is in search of other notorious members of the Jerusalem rogue platform group who are at large.

The 2021 edition of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) which commenced on Monday August 16, 2021 is expected to end smoothly on Friday, October 8, 2021, at the 763 examination centres nationwide.

The administrator of the Jerusalema group, Godfred Darko last week was arrested at Kasoa in the Central Region and has since been handed over to the for the necessary documentation and processing for court.
