A 64-year-old police officer found dead on his farm

A 64-year-old retired police officer has been found dead on his farm in Asitey Mountains in Lower Manya Krobo Municipality in the Eastern Region.

ASP (rtd) Peter Kwadwo Tawiah left home Thursday morning, at about 7:00 am to his farm, but failed to return.

Police officers were quickly dispatched to the farm in search of him and he was found motionless.

ASP retired Peter Kwadwo Tawiah as affectionately called was lying in a supine position with a cutlass in his right hand.

After preliminary examination by the police team, they inspect the body and took inventories of the crime scene, he was conveyed to the Atua government hospital where he was medically pronounced dead on arrival.

The body has since been deposited at the morgue of the same hospital. The public relations officer of the Eastern regional police command, DSP, Ebenezer Tetteh, told starr News, earlier investigation of the body, did not revealed any marks of assaults.

He, however, said the police is waiting for an autopsy report by a medical doctor to establish the cause of death.
