Seven Persons Including A Baby Have Lost Their Lives Through Accidents In The Central Region

Seven persons including a baby have lost their lives through accidents today in the Central region. The first which took the lives of five persons occurred at Domenase. A taxi with these five passengers was moving from Mankessim to a village called Tiako. The road is newly constructed so drivers plying that road drive at top speed.

On reaching a sharp curve on the road, a trailer that was coming in the opposite direction run over the taxi and smashed it along with its passengers. The trailer had moved a bit onto the lane of the taxi and due to speed smashed it. All five passengers died instantly. The deceased bodies have been taken to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital.

The driver and mate of the trailer sustained serious injuries and have been taken to Saltpond Government Hospital. Another also happened on the Cape Coast highway close to Apam junction. This again involved a trailer and sprinter bus coming from Nzema and heading towards the Volta region.

The trailer was from Accra to heading to Takoradi. The two vehicles collided and instantly took the life of a mother and her baby. Eight others in the sprinter but sustained injuries and are receiving treatment at Apam Government hospital.
