A 31-year-old man from Harben Park in Gweru was electrocuted while trying to steal copper wires from a transformer for the Zimbabwe Electrical Supply (ZESA) on Thursday last week.
Job Ziyambi's body was found hanging from a transformer by a passerby who reported it to the police.
Midlands Police spokesman Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the incident to The Mirror.

“I received reports of sudden death from electric shock that occurred on June 30, 2022.
“Officers accompanied by ZESA officers were at the location. It was observed that electric shock occurred after the red phase connection wire connecting the transformer was disconnected.
“His body was bleeding from his nose and mouth, and his clothes were partially burned.
“Damaging ZESA's infrastructure is a serious offense punishable by a long prison sentence. We advise people not to damage the ZESA infrastructure because it is dangerous," he said.
Regardless of his crime, may his soul rest in peace (Amen).
