Is Sir John Happy With This Lavish Burial?

The burial ceremony of Sir John reminds me of a verse in Medikal’s song that says; “la hustle ooo, ny3 saa la we”.

In the Queen’s parlance, indirectly means; : hustle hard, else you’d be poor”.

Ghanaians, both home and abroad have expressed their opinion with some supporting it and others against it.

Kwasdwo Owusu Afriyie, popularly known as Sir John was the Chief Executive Officer of the Forestry Commision before his unfortunate death on 1st July, 2021.

There has not been any official communication on the cause of his death but it is rumored that, he had contracted covid-19 and was receiving treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU) of the Korlebu Teaching Hospital after coming down with complications.

Indeed he was a successful lawyer and an accomplished individual.

In the run up to his burial ceremony and funeral, an image of a flat-like building surfaced on social media with captions that it was Sir John’s tomb.

At first, a lot of people thought it was fake because it is not the usual tomb we all see at the cemeteries.

It started gaining momentum when some social media users confirmed with videos from Wonoo, a village in the Ashanti region where the deceased hails from and has subsequently been buried.

Is such a tomb necessary?

A lot of people have expressed divergent views regarding the tomb and shocking amon and even compared the tomb to some dilapidated structures in the country.

In my opinion, there is nothing wrong with it as long as the family can afford it. The family deemed it fit to finally honor an industrious son of the land and there is nothing wrong with it.

Sir John deserves it and he must be allowed to Rest In Peace!!
